A former civil engineer who was too creative for engineering.
My name is Gui Marcondes. I'm the mind (and the body and everything else) behind hyuggen, as this is a one-man studio.
Since 2019, I have been a visualisation specialist. Here's a bit about my journey:
I'm a former civil engineer who found his true calling in creativity rather than engineering. Shortly after graduating from engineering school, I pursued specialisation degrees in timber architecture, interior design, and phenomenology of landscape.
Way before becoming a civil engineer, I had a passion for photography, painting, 3D art, and art theory, nurturing my creative side for over ten years now.
After a few years working in the industry as a project consultant for building performance and accessibility, an opportunity arose to delve into 3D and architectural visualisation for real estate. This opportunity eventually evolved into a full-time role, where I became the head of visualisation for the office.
And after more years in the industry, focusing on technical visualisations for real estate, I decided to embark on a solo career with a more artistic approach, and hyuggen was founded.
